Tip Of The Day – 10/22/2014
Selling corals and fish to friends seems like a quick and easy way to get rid of a few pieces and make a couple of bucks at the same time. But, as the saying goes, never mix business with pleasure. There are many times when a livestock transaction goes well, and several where they don’t. You sell a coral to a friend who can’t pay you up front, the coral dies in his or her care, and they don’t feel the need to pay you. Or, let’s say they do pay you in full, but demand a refund because the animal died. You, being the good friend, are torn over the situation. Cave in and give the money back (or forgive the debt) or stand up for the principle and risk losing a good friend in the process. It’s a tough situation that is best to be avoided.
On the flip side, you could just give them a small freebie frag and hope (but not expect) they return the favor down the road.
